Hosting Japanese Youth (12-15 years
old) from July 21 to August 18, 2019
Dear 4-H Families:
Looking for some new fun and
excitement this summer? Host a boy or girl from Japan in your home for 3½
weeks! (July 21 to Aug. 18) The Maryland 4-H International Program is
offering hosting opportunities to families, and Japanese youth on the other
side of the world are anxiously waiting to learn who their new
family might be! The focus is on everyday family life. Special
trips and activities are not required.

· Who are the Japanese Youth? Our youth are excited Japanese delegates who range from the
ages of 12-15.
· Chaperone Hosting: We
are also looking for a family to host a chaperone! You do not need to have
children in the home to host.
· How to Apply: Visit http://www.states4hexchange.org/summer-inbound/ to complete an application which includes references,
and in home interviews. Returning host families do not need to submit new
references. Make sure to click Japan.
· Deadline:
Applications are accepted until all youth are placed. The earlier the better,
but please contact us regardless of when you receive this email. We currently
have three families who have applied but all the delegates need host families!
